The Alberta PNP is looking for applicants who have CRS 318. BC has a certain allure. The monthly draw results for PEI are now available.
Three Canadian provinces held lotteries for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) this week, asking hopefuls to take the next step toward permanent residency.
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, the majority of Canadian provinces and territories have their own PNPs. Provincial officials in charge of these initiatives ask qualified persons to seek for a provincial nomination. While a provincial nomination is not the same as permanent residence, it can significantly boost one’s prospects of getting permanent residency.
For example, PNP applicants with Express Entry profiles who are nominated earn 600 points added to their score. They may also be invited to apply for a PNP-specific batch of invites. Canada welcomed 924 PNP applicants with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of at least 754 to apply in the Express Entry lottery this week.
Here are the results from Alberta, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island.
Alberta
On March 8, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued an invitation to 350 Express Entry applicants to apply for the Alberta Express Entry stream.
To be asked to submit for a provincial nomination from Alberta, Express Entry applicants needed a CRS score of at least 318.
Candidates must have work experience in a suitable occupation to apply for the Alberta Express Entry stream. The AAIP does not give a list of jobs that are eligible for the stream; rather, it provides a list of occupations that are not eligible for the stream.
Work experience, a Canadian degree, or a job offer in Alberta are all factors that boost your chances of getting nominated. It is also advantageous to have a family member, such as a parent, kid, or sibling, who is already residing in Alberta.
Candidates must also fulfil the Express Entry eligibility standards. To be considered, a CRS score of 300 is necessary. Candidates for Express Entry may be invited if they say in their profile that they want to live permanently in Canada.
BC
On March 14, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued its weekly round of invites. Around 175 BC immigration applicants were invited to seek for a provincial nomination.
A total of 123 of these individuals were invited via a BC Tech lottery. Candidates invited through BC’s Tech draws must fulfil the requirements of one of British Columbia’s Express Entry BC or Skills immigration categories, which are maintained through the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Candidates who earned invites in this draw were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories and had to have a minimum provincial score of 85.
In addition, the province sponsored three drawings for applicants in certain vocations. Twenty-seven early childhood educators were asked to apply for the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories. BC also invited 21 healthcare professionals who might be qualified for the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled subcategories. Candidates required a minimum provincial score of 85 in each of these draws.
Furthermore, only five health care assistants were asked to apply for the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-categories. To be invited, these individuals required to have a score of at least 63.
PEI
On March 17, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 141 immigration candidates.
With a total of 130 invites, Express Entry and Labour Impact applicants received the most. The remaining 11 invites were given to Business Impact candidates who received at least 62 points in their province.
PEI holds around one draw every month and publishes its calendar for the entire year in advance.
